Global Perspectives on Education, Business and Technology 2026 (GPEBT 2026)

This Privacy Notice explains how personal data is collected, used, shared, stored, and protected in connection with GPEBT 2026. By submitting a paper, registering for the conference, participating as a reviewer or presenter, or using the GPEBT 2026 website and submission system, you acknowledge the processing of your personal data as described in this Notice.

GPEBT 2026 will process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), as amended, and other applicable Malaysian laws.

1. Personal Data We Collect

Depending on your involvement in GPEBT 2026, we may collect:

  • name and contact details;
  • institutional affiliation and position;
  • author and co-author information;
  • manuscript, abstract, keywords, and submission details;
  • reviewer information and review reports;
  • conference registration and attendance information;
  • presentation title and session information;
  • payment details and proof of payment;
  • publication-related information;
  • correspondence with the Secretariat; and
  • technical information generated through the conference website or submission system.

Where relevant, we may also collect information voluntarily provided for dietary, accessibility, or other conference arrangements.

2. Why We Collect Your Personal Data

Your personal data may be used to:

  • manage manuscript submission and peer review;
  • communicate review decisions and revision requirements;
  • process conference registration and payment;
  • prepare the conference programme and presentation schedule;
  • communicate conference updates;
  • issue attendance or presentation certificates;
  • manage conference proceedings;
  • process accepted papers for journal publication;
  • communicate with reviewers, authors, presenters, and participants;
  • maintain conference records; and
  • comply with legal, financial, and administrative requirements.

3. Peer Review

Submitted manuscripts will undergo the GPEBT 2026 double-blind peer-review process. Information will be managed to protect the identities of the author and reviewer as required by the review process. Reviewer reports, comments, decisions, and related communications may be retained as part of the conference's academic and administrative records.

4. Publication

Papers accepted and presented at GPEBT 2026 may proceed to publication.

For publication purposes, relevant information may be shared with the Asian Scholars Network (ASNet) and the selected collaborating MyCite-indexed journals.

Information shared may include:

  • author names and affiliations;
  • manuscript files;
  • reviewer reports;
  • publication metadata; and
  • information required for editorial, template, formatting, and journal-scope screening.

Published papers may contain author names, affiliations, article titles, abstracts, and other publication information as part of the permanent scholarly record.

5. Who May Receive Your Personal Data

Where necessary, personal data may be shared with authorised parties involved in GPEBT 2026, including:

  • Conference Advisors and Co-Chairs;
  • Scientific Committee and Editorial Board members;
  • reviewers;
  • Secretariat and authorised administrative staff;
  • website and system administrators;
  • finance personnel;
  • publication partners and collaborating journals; and
  • service providers supporting conference administration.

Personal data will only be shared where reasonably necessary for conference administration, review, registration, payment, or publication.

6. Payment Information

GPEBT 2026 may collect information required to verify conference payments, including:

  • payer name;
  • payment amount;
  • transaction reference;
  • proof of payment; and
  • payment status.

Participants should avoid including unnecessary banking information when submitting proof of payment.

7. Photography and Recording

Photographs or recordings may be taken during GPEBT 2026 for conference documentation, institutional reporting, website content, and conference-related communication. Participants with concerns regarding photography or recording may contact the Secretariat.

8. Data Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures will be used to protect personal data against:

  • loss;
  • misuse;
  • unauthorised access;
  • unauthorised disclosure; and
  • accidental or unlawful alteration or destruction.

Access to personal data will be limited to authorised persons who require it for legitimate conference purposes.

9. Data Retention

Personal data will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for conference administration, academic records, publication, financial requirements, or legal obligations. Published papers, conference proceedings, and associated scholarly metadata may remain permanently available as part of the academic record.

10. Access and Correction

Subject to applicable Malaysian law, you may request access to or correction of your personal data. Requests should be submitted to the GPEBT 2026 Secretariat.

11. Cross-Border Processing

Some conference or publication services may involve data being processed or accessed outside Malaysia, particularly where international publication, cloud-based systems, or service providers are involved. Where applicable, such transfers will be managed in accordance with Malaysian data-protection requirements.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services

The GPEBT 2026 website may contain links to third-party websites, publication platforms, or other external services. These third parties may have their own privacy policies. GPEBT 2026 is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that it does not control.
